Soldering Iron Tip Repair with RL-461:
-
Process:
- The soldering iron tip needs to be heated to 300°C - 360°C (recommended temperature range).
- Dip the tip gently into the RL-461 for a few seconds. You can repeat this 2-3 times if needed.
- Important: The tip won't be repaired if it's not heated.
- After using RL-461, wipe the tip with a wet sponge.
- Clean the tip with a solder sponge or copper wire.
- Apply a new layer of solder to the tip for a clean and renewed finish.
- If the results aren't ideal, repeat steps 3-4 until satisfied.
-
Benefits of RL-461:
- Effectively removes oxide layers from the tip.
- Minimizes damage to the tip's alloy layer.
- Simple and convenient to use.
-
Why not polish or directly remove the oxide layer?
- Polishing or directly removing the oxide layer can damage the protective alloy coating of the tip.

RL-461 offers a safer and more effective method.
