Just like playing with Legos, you can easily replace the screen yourself at home in a few simple steps, saving you the high cost of repairs.

  • Opening pick
  • Phillips screwdriver

Step 1: Power off the device

Step 2

Use a spudger to pry a gap between the metal bezel and the plastic bezel. Insert an opening pick and slide it around the perimeter to separate the screen from the housing.

Step 3

Remove the battery cover screws and disconnect the battery.

Step 4

 Disconnect the ribbon cable from the screen and connect it to the new screen.

Connect the battery and turn on the device by plugging in the charger.

Once you have tested that everything is working properly, screw the battery screws back in and clip on the screen.

Additional notes:

  • Be careful not to damage the ribbon cable when disconnecting and reconnecting it.
  • Make sure that the ribbon cable is properly seated in the connector before turning on the device.
